Silk Scarves

July 16, 2010

With new fashion styles coming out sometimes we forget the simplest of fashion forms that rock the U.S and even nationwide. Sometimes the styles are brought back and revamped to show the new generations new style and individuality but in reality it probably what was presented a decade ago and bedazzled. But as women what are we to do but either love or hate what fashion designers put out. But there are also times as a woman we can’t always afford the pricey wear the celebrities wear even if it’s a reincarnation of jeans made a decades ago like the bell bottoms. As designers become more and better known they’re pieces become more and more expensive leaving us with no choice but to opt out of buying what we want readily or saving for it. Though there are plenty of different styles out there to enhance you and your style what people have also lost over time is the idea of wearing a silk wrap. In the present day we see women only covering their hair to keep it from harm or to cover it up on the worst of days, but what happened to wearing a nice silk scarf because it matched your outfit or because it was the accessory that would really put your outfit on the map for you.

Silk wraps and scarves can be stylish and also bring individuality and best of all you get your money’s worth. Silk scarves weren’t always used to just to cover up that bad hair-do, which is still a good use by the way, but you can have your outfit surround it as the center piece. Hand painted silk head wraps are for those late evenings out and still look stylish. The patterns can start off a color pattern within your outfit to make it more colorful and a splash that can be within a skirt or shirt or even your shoes. For example wearing a printed scarf on your head with painted flowers or pattern such as the strips or something simple as black with a shimmer covering it to give it a starry affect all these can be worn with casual bottoms.  Silk Scarves can be worn also for special occasions as shown at womenclothingtoday.com. It creates a sensual feeling as well as keeps your hair up but it adds more to you accessories.

Your silk scarf can be tied in different ways to enhance your look. It doesn’t have to be a simple head wrap or something that is just a covering all the time. But there are different looks. A bow or a simple knot in the middle that is tied at the back of the head letting it flow can convey an exotic look. Or a simple one loop tie with one half of the fabric hanging loosely over a shoulder as well can bring out the best in a simple beige skirt khaki pants or even jeans. While your hair is tied up the earrings and scarf can do a lot of talking for your outfit. And don’t forget your shoes. Also try pairing your shoes off with your silk scarf. It can be the smallest hint of color. Such as wearing a silk scarf that has a soft blue and creamy light yellow with a hint of white and more creamed colors; you could pair your shoes based off that small hint of yellow. The shoes could be a loud yellow that matched perfectly with the scarf. You top shouldn’t stray too far away from the scarf. For example the blues and yellows and soft creams the blouse should be one out of the most dominant colors.
