The Secrets of an American Teenager: Accessory Edition

July 29, 2010

Once the summer is out, teenagers dread the idea of going back to school and starting another life. It is almost equivalent to getting your teeth snatched out. It’s loathed and a bitter subject yet the bright side of going back to school is looking into new fashion ideas and even tapping into some of the stylist tips and ideas on television. Of course there is that gold rule when you are young, “Don’t be a copy cat,” but whose says it’s copying when you make it your own. Millions of teenagers and young adults look to television icons to fulfill the dressing and apparel ideas. Who said you had to be a girl to look at the fads and up and coming clothing lines before going back to school. It is one of the biggest rages.

As a matter of fact that is the most important part about going back to school. Teenagers don’t want to discuss what classes they’re taking all the time let alone the teachers they may have, those are the least of their worries. Sorry parents. They’re worried about how to appeal like they’ve changed since the summer. If they’ve been on vacation they want to make sure that when they come back there is a guarantee change for the good. Whether it be a change in hair color, designer clothes, new attitude or even the way you talk; it can be as simple as that. So as the summer comes to an end here are some things to look forward to when teenagers and young adults alike go back to hitting the school books or better yet the clothing racks in stores. Two stylish tips that can take not just the American teenager a long way but teenagers all over the world are simple items of clothing the classical jeans and the scarf.

Jeans never get tiresome or old and the hand painted silk is not only special and unique when paired together it creates any appeal you desire it to have with a simple knot here or there.

1) Jeans. Though teenagers love the idea of designer jeans going on sale and begging their parents to get them or the jeans not going on sale and they beg anyway, the idea of making things they’re very own. When everything is custom made or made with just a glue gun it adds excitement and it allows them to tap into their own creativity. They don’t have to copy the design but having a needle and thread to stitch in a new design that was seen in a magazine or in a scrap book (sometimes they come with cool stickers that could go for a design on a pair of jeans)
2) Handmade silk Scarves. Ok silk may sound luxurious but it is the fashion that’s in. Silk scarves that can be seen at womenclothingtoday.com are equivalent to scarves worn by Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Miranda Crosgrove and many more stars. Not only can you by these sleek material here but they also can be found in fabric stores. All you would have to do is jazz it up with acrylic paint if you wish or even use a hot glue gun with beads or rhinestones. Hand painted silk isn’t only for the rich and famous or even fanciful occasion. Silk can be worn on the coolest or even hottest of days. This fabric can be wrapped around your neck, head, waist, shoulders. Painted silk doesn’t have to just be worn by those seen on TV it can be worn by you.
