Ways to wear Silk Shawls

Silk shawls are worn by numerous of celebrities and numerous of people and they’re used for numerous purposes. You can’t always think that a silk shawl is used for a basic wrap to keep you warm the nights you’re sitting outside enjoying some fresh air. You want your silk shawl to be useful and not be shoved toward the back of the closet where you are compelled to wear it only when you think its collecting dust or for those nights. Silk shawls are delicate fabrics and should be used with great care but that doesn’t mean that they’re used for only special occasions. Silk shawls can be worn while you are at work, while you’re school, on vacation or even daily with assorted outfits.

Silk is an ancient fabric that was worn by those who are rich and have the money to keep up the support of the making of silk fabric. But now a days you can be bought silk for far less as well as found and numerous stores and if it isn’t exactly silk its compared too and a great deal that can last you decades. There are plenty of ways to wear silk shawls as well but the best type of silk to have is a hand painted silk shawl.

Painted silk shawls are exotic and used for the best of times and it isn’t as expensive as you think. But here are ways to keep up with the fall fashion and wear your silk shawl all the time in different ways.

  1. Shawls make for good belts. Tie the shawl around your jeans, work pants, or long skirts in a nice bow or in a knot allowing the loose ends to fall down to your side. This effect can add more for creativity and different look. You can also tie the silk shawl around your stomach loosely for a different look.
  2. Tie the silk shawl about your head as a head band. Silk scarves can be used for this as well but the shawl adds a more dramatic effect allowing the tail ends to be longer.
  3. Tie the silk shawl around your neck as you would a scarf. Silk scarves and shawls are in the same category and can be used in the same way.
  4. Wrap the silk shawl around you shoulder but shift the shawl to where you have the ends to one side of your shoulder and tie it into a bow. This creates a poncho feel as well as a useful cover up for spaghetti straps.
  5. Tie the loose ends of your shawl behind your neck. A silk shawl is long enough to allow the bulged part to look similar to a shirt and also create a sensual look.
