It seems far nicer to be working indoors when winter comes around. Yet, sometimes, it can be a might chilly for a secretary or receptionist forced to sit long hours in front of a computer or at a desk answering phones. Sitting there without doing any physical activity can be quite numbing. While the majority of individuals are comfortable in the “optimum” level of the heat thermostat, several are not. They are more sensitive to the cold. At home, many more suffer as they try to keep warm while trying to keep heating costs down.
In times past, shawls served anything but a decorative purpose. They helped women drive away the chill. Nowadays, many beautiful shawls are simply for show. This is a pity as these magnificent accessories have more than one use. They are practical and beautiful making them an ideal addition to any female’s wardrobe.
Various materials have gone into the manufacturing of shawls over the centuries. Silk has been one found to be perfect for chilling work situations. You can wear the fabric both over your clothing or underneath as insulation. Don’t let silk fool you. It may be fine in appearance, but 100% unadulterated silk fabric has some amazing heat retaining characteristics. These act to keep you warm no matter at what temperature your boss chooses to set the thermostat. Shawls also offer a further convenience. You can add them on or take them off as you feel cooler or warmer. This is easily more practical than wearing a sweater over your outfit.
The job requirement for many office jobs that allow you to freeze also demand ask you dress smartly. Bulky layers of sweaters often come across as being “too casual.” The look they create is often rather messy. This is not so with using silk shawls. The words “smart” and “sophisticated” come to mind, instead. Be sure to select elegantly flowing hand dyed shawls featuring a multitude of distinctive hand painted designs. They provide an elegance and stylishness no matter what business or level you work at. In a sumptuous silk shawl, you will never appear inadequately dressed.
Stylishness and warmth are not the only reasons to try to keep comfortable at work. The natural reaction of your body to cold is muscle contraction. This results in both pain and stiffness. A contributing factor to this health issue is the necessity of remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Wearing a cozy silk scarf will prevent further debilitating aches and pains.
Looking great while you do so is a further reason to adopt this practice.
