Stunning Silk Scarves and Shawls for the Office Christmas Party

December 30, 2010

The office Christmas party must surely have been responsible over the years for more damaged and destroyed reputations than any single other event. Maybe it is all those emotions which have been pent up throughout the course of the year and simply have to be expressed before the New Year comes over the horizon, or perhaps it is simply the only opportunity to be entertained at the company’s expense in the course of each twelve months, but whichever is the case, all too often it sees ordinarily respectable individuals acting totally out of character.

In many cases, it is a combination of things which lead people to cross boundaries which would normally stay firmly in place. Alcohol, or rather too much alcohol, undoubtedly has much to answer for in terms of provoking inappropriate behavior, and probably the mere informality of the whole event causes many to forget themselves. Ultimately though, office Christmas parties frequently cause people to disgrace themselves by their actions, as well as by the way that they look.

Women very often fall into two separate camps when it comes to choosing what to wear to their corporate Christmas events. There are those who opt for a look of elegance and sophistication which will raise them up in the eyes of their employers and show that they are the same quality individual outside the workplace as in it, and there are those who tend to go for something more daring, almost as an act of defiance. While both looks are most certainly noticed by bosses, the latter generally does little to create a favorable impression.

The thing to remember about office Christmas parties is that they are still work-related events, albeit that the setting may be far less formal than the normal working environment. Whilst they may not be advertized, there are still certain protocols which employees are expected to observe and one of these relates to the dress code.

Christmas parties are, however, supposed to be fun, and part of the enjoyment for most women is the opportunity to dress up nicely for the occasion. The trick though, is in choosing an outfit which not only makes you look and feel good, but which also does not cross the bounds of respectability. While deeply plunging necklines and backless numbers might fit both of the first two bills, often it is better to play it safe. That does not mean dispensing with your favorite dress though, and fabulous hand painted silk scarves and handmade shawls can be the perfect solution for making that Christmas party dress a real hit on all accounts.

Within reason, no matter what length of dress you choose for your office Christmas party, a stunning silk shawl is bound to be the perfect accompaniment and will add a look of sheer elegance and sophistication. The length of the shawl helps to detract from hemlines which some might consider to be a little on the short side whilst still making you feel sexy underneath. Women’s silk scarves, on the other hand, are the perfect solution for outfits which might otherwise be too revealing on the top half. Draped across the arms or shoulders or around the neck, they allow just enough flesh to be on show without going overboard.

For the ultimate statement in terms of class and sophistication, which no boss could ignore, the beautiful examples of hand painted silk scarves and hand dyed silk shawls are the ones to choose. The quality and flow of the glorious 100% pure silk is certain to have you singled out as a woman with a fine sense of style and good judgment.
