Mention the word shawl and what most people will think of is one of those coarse, knitted shawls like grandma used to wear. You remember? The triangular-shaped ones which were not exactly the picture of elegance and sophistication but served their purpose pretty well in terms of keeping grandma warm. Well, guess what? If there is one type of outing which is guaranteed to throw women into a quandary in terms of what to wear, it has to be a night at the opera. Perhaps because many people see the opera as being somewhat elitist, making sure that they do not show themselves up by turning up inappropriately attired is of the ultimate importance.
Let’s face it, any woman can look great when she glams herself up for a special occasion. After a visit to the hairdressers, applying some make-up and donning a fabulous outfit, we all scrub up pretty well and can make a superb impression on others. What really makes a lady stand out in a class of her own though, is not how she appears when attending these special events, but by looking immaculate when she goes about her normal daily business; when she’s doing all those very ordinary things like shopping and walking the dog.
Looking back into the 70’s we think about the different colors, the flowers, the tie-dye, the bell bottoms, the disco ball, the disco music, and everything else in between. We see it personified on television and sometimes we see the fashion statements presented then turned into renovated fashion trends. The look has not lost its groovy sense with today’s teens. Bell bottoms are still worn just as well as the simple scarf around the head or the ribbon embroidery tide about the head. With this style never ending and ever emerging into something better why not embrace it.
One of the first things we think about when we see a fashion article is “Is it something I can afford?” Some things we do see items that are affordable while others we laugh at and possibly put it on our “to get” list. But there are ways to go about finding the things you want whether you search them out online or if you search them out in stores. Presently some find it far better to search on line, when it can be done both ways. With fashion trends being publicized online and at fashion shows it becomes difficult to imagine where you can actually find items like it or even consider the style. You want to see yourself in the clothes that you wear and you want your closet to speak volumes of who you are. There are so many options when we look at the fashion world. And some of us are just simple and can just deal with the skinny jean and cute boots combo and call it a day. By all means do go shopping if your selection is limited but you’ll be surprised how many items we have in our closets because we simply don’t see any other use for them. Transforming a look can be tiresome and sometimes completely useless but it can be done due to the fact that many celebrities have done over years time and have come out flawless so why can’t you. Even if you are satisfied with your look there is always a little something more you can add to make it a tad bit better than you can imagine. It can also be so much simpler than you think that it would allow for a great transformation and exposing an inward beauty as well.
Dimmed lights, shinny cars, honking into the mist of the night is what we look forward to on a night out. On the other hand these are things what we expect to find on a night out on the town. Just as when we go to the mal we wish to find certain things, certain amenities any mall would have. After a hard days of shopping we hope to find a food court; as well as a handful of bargain shops we hope to find department stores. And on the west coast we hope to find certain stores like JC Penny, Nordstorms, Dillards, Macy’s, or Marshalls and other well known department stores. But there are several things in which we look forward to within a mall and sometimes we can even learn from it. That’s why when we go we have a semi open mind. We know what we want yet we keep an eye open to what will do us good or what may look good even if it is on someone else.
Everyone loves a bargain, whether they really need to save money or not. There is just something about knowing that we have managed to get a few dollars knocked of that original asking price that fills our hearts with glee. Of course, sometimes we don’t even have to do any negotiating in order to bag ourselves a great deal. End of season sales can see prices slashed to a fraction of what they were. On other occasions we might be able to haggle over the price of an item, although this is rarely acceptable in the majority of large stores. There are times though, when even in chain stores you can negotiate a price reduction, and that is when an item is slightly damaged or shop-soiled.
